Verleih uns frieden- translation and pronunciation and notes

German text
Verleih uns Frieden gnädiglich,
Herr Gott, zu unsern Zeiten.
Es ist doch ja kein andrer nicht,
der für uns könnte streiten,
denn du, unser Gott, alleine

English translation
In these our days so perilous,
Lord, peace in mercy send us;
No God but thee can fight for us,
No God but thee defend us;
Thou our only God and Saviour.

Listen to the pronunciation:\

Verleih uns Frieden (Da Pacem Domine) Felix Mendelssohn (1809-47)
Text by Martin Luther (1483-1546) -- translation of the Latin “Da Pacem Domine” text
 Written in 1831 after Mendelssohn visited the Vatican Style is inspired by Bach -
 Basses introduce a simple chorale melody which is then sung by the women and paired with a countermelody in the basses; the piece concludes with a stunning 4-part chorale-style harmonization

Translation: Verleih' uns Frieden gnädiglich, In these our days so perilous, Herr Gott, zu unser'n Zeiten, Lord, peace in mercy send us; Es ist doch ja kein Ander' nicht, No God but thee can fight for us, Der für uns könnte streiten, No God but thee defend us; Denn du, unser Gott alleine. Thou our only God and Saviour.
